General Machinery Trade Figures for First Half of 2010 The Ministry of Knowledge Economy has released its year-on-year trade figures for the general machinery sector for the first six months of the year. The trade balance for the general machinery sector recorded $3.4 billion; this represents 18.9 percent of the total national trade balance ($17.9 billion). Exports for the general machinery sector climbed 39.2 percent to $17 billion. Construction machinery and bearings turned in an impressive performance, surging 92.9 percent and 63.8 percent, respectively, from a year earlier. Outbound shipments to China, the United States, ASEAN and Japan rose 58.7 percent, 23.8 percent, 37.3 percent and 14.3 percent, respectively.
